ScaleFlux Announces Reseller Partnership with Japan Electronics Technology Trading Company MARUBUN

New collaboration brings the power of ScaleFlux’s computational storage drives to the APAC region.

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Sept. 24, 2021 – ScaleFlux, Inc., the leader in deploying Computational Storage at scale, today announced a reseller partnership with Japanese Electronics Technology Trading company Marubun. As part of this partnership, ScaleFlux’s CSD 2000 series of computational storage drives will now be available to customers of Marubun.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Marubun to make our computational storage drives available throughout APAC,” said Hao Zhong, co-founder and CEO of ScaleFlux. “The CSD 2000 series has been proven to provide a simultaneous reduction in storage costs and improvements in application latency and performance. With this partnership, customers of Marubun can experience the benefits of compression without compromising on cost or performance.”

The CSD 2000 series simultaneously improves application performance and reduces Flash storage costs over ordinary NVMe SSDs. Available in industry-standard U.2 and PCIe Add-in Card form factors, the CSD 2000 integrates hardware compression/decompression into its SSD controller.

The combination of this compression/decompression feature with ScaleFlux’s advanced Flash Translation Layer (FTL) is a unique offering in the industry and will now be available throughout APAC. Unlike other compression options which introduce added latency, burden CPU cores, and create system bottlenecks, the CSD 2000 enables users to take advantage of the storage cost savings of compression while reducing latency, improving transactional performance, and seamlessly integrating with mission-critical database applications such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and Aerospike.

“By partnering with ScaleFlux, we’re able to provide our customers with a high-performance solution that contributes to the reduction of TCO,” said Toru Iino, CEO of Marubun. “For the first time ever, the CSD 2000 will be available to the APAC region so that enterprises can improve both their application latency and performance.”
