CSSZlib saves 10.5% more space on disk than LZ4. The trade-off between compression throughput and compression ratio is very high when comparing LZ4 to CPU based Gzip. CSSZlib boosts performance of Gzip compatible compression while preserving its high compression ratio. For applications where maximum storage savings is important, CSS 1000 can be used to avoid the steep performance penalty imposed by CPU based Gzip.
